This playful wreath was commissioned for a couple getting married in Ireland with a love of vintage styled garden gnomes. How perfectly perfect, right? The base was covered with a mix of moss greens in both a cotton and wispy grass yarn finish and highlighted by color blocked turquoise panels. I researched Irish country side images to find the colors most commonly found in the foliage and was interested to see a mix of dark moss-like greens and much bolder, lighter sprigs. I included those elements, along with water felted and pottery wheel spun roses in mint, mushroom-dot brick red and stoneware brown. I can't get over how much I love these little gardeners; one is holding a baby squirrel, one is harvesting a basket of mushrooms and one is ready with shovel in hand, to dig into the garden dirt. A few acorns are tucked into the nosegay bouquets for an authentic touch.
I wish the couple all the luck in the world as they start their new life together! xoxo Agnes
