Music Over Words

It didn't feel right to post about anything less than what happened in Newtown last week.  But I can't stand the way that the news is squeezing this tragedy dry like carrion at the expense of the victims and there is really nothing that I can say that hasn't been said sooner, louder and better by someone else.

I'm not ashamed of my love of choral music and in fact I've blogged about it before in the past. It's odd, perhaps, to find someone in my age bracket who would choose it over another type of melody but I do believe that at times of great sorrow, allowing yourself the silence and peace that this kind of music brings is purifying and healing.  My brother reminded me of this particular melody last week so if you do anything today, give yourself just fifteen minutes of listening to this beauty and remember that our babies are sent to us on borrowed time and that love is  shown in the smallest ways, day by day.     xoxo Agnes

I love choral music too!! So many people my age just don't like it. So it's nice to hear someone else loves it too! I love this arrangement a lot! Actually sang it when i was in chamber choir. Beauatiful way to think about what happened this week.
